Construction Project Accountant

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Accountant is responsible for the accounting and finance needs at a project level, and works closely with the project manager(s) to ensure that the project is being run efficiently. The Project Accountant also monitors and reports on progress to ensure schedule and budgets are met. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented and possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate accounts payable for vendors and subcontractors.
  • Process expense reimbursement and project specific invoices.
  • Streamline project payroll for processing by the company payroll team.
  • Administer over and audit project documentation.
  • Generate accounting reporting as needed including evaluation of risk and profitability.
  • Assist in the resolution of claims/exposure with appropriate parties.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years’ related experience in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in construction accounting software such as Procore a plus.
