This project was an upgrade of a historic building in downtown San Francisco. The remodel included a $250 per square foot tenant buildout and a new 42,000 SF Rizzoli’s Bookstore.
The team installed twelve 30-foot-deep by two-foot diameter caissons, then under-pinned and shotcreted the entire building up to the roof. The project scope also included replacing the entire first floor to accommodate for a three-foot difference between the two streets bordering the site. The project was completed 6 months earlier than predicted due to a fast track schedule and a quality preconstruction approach which included tight sequencing.
