Build Group’s renovation of the W Hotel Hollywood is a prime example of our capability to execute complex renovations in fully operational hotel environments, emphasizing minimal disruption to guests and ongoing hotel activities. The project included significant updates to the main lobby, reception area, lounge/bar, restaurant, bar, gym, rooftop pool area, ballroom, meeting rooms, banquet kitchen, valet service, and exterior courtyard. At the same time, the hotel continued to operate at total capacity, including a bustling adjacent restaurant, Delfins, and residential condos directly above the work areas.

To manage this complex setup, we implemented strategic measures such as erecting full-height partitions to discreetly navigate guests around the construction zones and relocating the reception to the rooftop, away from the hustle of the renovations. Communication with the Homeowners Association was crucial to address the concerns of the condo residents above and ensure that their daily lives were minimally impacted.

With the hotel’s meeting spaces remaining in use, we constructed a temporary tunnel to provide safe and clear access for guests and staff. The project’s logistics were meticulously managed to accommodate limited space for materials, requiring just-in-time delivery protocols to keep the site clear and functional throughout the renovation process.
