UCSF Sutter Parking Garage

Carefully configured on a tight site, this 88,500 SF concrete structure includes 230 spaces on six-stories above-grade and one level below-grade that connects to an adjacent underground garage of a medical office building next door.

Understanding sensitive and project-critical seismic issues between the two buildings was essential. The nature of this tight urban site did not leave room or space for much tolerance in the design or construction. The team was able to deliver this project successfully on budget and a month earlier than scheduled, and it is now part of the urban fabric of UCSF’s Parnassus Campus and fits seamlessly in the Sutter Street block facades.
